1. Clean your cast iron cookware with some gentle soap and warm water.
2. Once washed, make sure to dry it off completely.
3. Then apply a coat of high smoke cooking oil all over the pan or pot from top to bottom.
4. Wipe away as much excess oil afterward as possible for best results.
5. To burn off excess oil, heat your pan on the stove to its smoking point.
6. For seasoning in the oven, preheat your oven between 200° C and 240° C.
7. Before placing the pan upside down with a large sheet of aluminum foil beneath it to capture any oil spills.
8. For 30 minutes, heat the pan on high heat on the gas top until you notice a faint smoky aroma in the air—this is normal.
9. Take it off the cooktop but let it cool down and wipe excess oil deposit.
10. Same for about 30 mins in the oven.
11. Once your timer goes off, turn off the oven and allow your pan to cool within it for approximately two hours with its door closed.
12. In order to acquire a well-seasoned finish, repeat these steps up to five times!
