Quick and Easy Pav Bhaji Lasagna

​​Indian food is highly flavourful and complex but the complaint many people have with it is that it leaves their hands dirty and many people don’t prefer that. This recipe eliminates that problem by baking the classic pav bhaji into a lasagna that can be enjoyed with a fork and knife and is also packed with lots of flavours along with the melted cheese.

    How to make Pav Bhaji Lasagna ?

    1) In a stainless steel chef's pan melt a knob of butter, to that add chopped garlic, ginger and onion. Saute them till they are slightly translucent.

    2) Add chopped tomatoes and capsicum with some green peas and saute them for a couple minutes. Add tomato paste and water to deglaze the pan.

    3) Season the bhaji with salt and chilli powders, add pav bhaji masala and some more water to cook the vegetables. Finally add boiled mashed potatoes and incorporate that into the bhaji

    4) In a nonstick loaf tin, add a layer of bhaji, followed by a layer of flattened bread slices. Top it off with some grated cheese and chopped onions. Repeat this once again.

    5) Take the soaked dumplings, flatten each dumpling using your fingers and add it to the soup.

    6) On the final layer add a lot of grated cheese with some onion and dried parsley as garnish. Bake it in a preheated 200 degree oven till the cheese melts.

    7) Once it's out of the oven, let it cool down a little and cut it into desirable portions.

     

    Expert Tips

    1. Bake sure that the bhaji isn't too liquidy so that it can be easily layered.
    2. Flattened bread makes a better lasagna layer than fluffy bread.
    3. So not skip the cooling stage after baking, or the lasagna wont hold its shape together.
