6. How are these Brands Superior?
1. 100% Nickel Free Thick Stainless Steel from Nippon Steel Corp JAPAN
These three brands use stainless steel from Nippon Sumitomo Steel Corporation (NSSC) that is manufactured in Japan. In 2010 NSSC developed the “NSSC®FW Series,” a resource-saving, high performance stainless steel. In 2012, it created “NSSC®2120 FW2,” a type of duplex stainless steel developed as an alternative to its standard stainless steel (SUS304). The benefit of this duplex steel is that it contains 0.3% tin, 16% chrome and NO NICKEL, along with no molybdenum and no copper content. The absence of nickel is certified by the two biggest food authorities- US FDA & EFSA.
2. Superior pitting resistance compared to ordinary stainless steel
Stainless Steel is covered by a layer of chromium oxide that prevents the metal from rusting. Pitting refers to damage incurred to the surface of the cookware that is caused by chlorine and chloride salts. When these salts come into contact with the body of your cookware the protective layer of chromium oxide generally starts to break down, causing small, dull-looking dots that slowly spread across the surface of your cookware. However, Meyer Stainless Steel cookware has higher corrosion and pitting resistance in comparison to other stainless steel cookware.
3. Optimum heating due to thick aluminum core
The overall performance of the cookware is uplifted by the use of an aluminum layer in the base to ensure that the cookware can sustain extremely high temperatures without wrapping. Thus, the cookware heats up quickly and cooks evenly as the thick Aluminum is a good conductor of heat.
